Abatec is currently looking for a Trainee or Semi-Skilled Welder to join our client based in Highbridge, Somerset.
You must be reliable and able to work independently for parts of the day.
As part of a busy team, you will be welding steel frames using TIG and MIG (all training will be provided).
12 - 13 per hour
Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Long-term, Permanent position
Opportunities for progression and upskilling
Key tasks include:
- Welding structural mild steel frames
- Reading/understanding technical drawings
- Correct use of provided PPE/RPE
This is a full-time position offering stable employment. A basic weld test will be required for successful applicants prior to employment.
No formal qualifications are necessary, but prior experience in the field is desirable. Additional training will be provided for the right candidates.
Skills required:
- Desire to learn all aspects of Welding
- Ability to work in and adhere to Health and Safety procedures and work instructions
- Some knowledge and use of Hand tools and machinery
- Attention to detail
- Responsible and flexible attitude
