Over the past 25 years they have grown to provide a comprehensive range of services (including Architectural, Building Surveying, Project Management and Quantity Surveying) to a diverse and enviable client base.

Due to their strong pipeline of work and ambitions to continue expanding the business, they are seeking a Senior Architect to take on a lead role within their design team.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Architect to lead the design and delivery of a broad portfolio of projects (typical values currently between 1m - 5m), with some great clients. There is also a clear pathway for the right individual to step up into a leadership role for the business, where you can have an influence on the continued growth and direction that the business takes.

The Role

As Lead Architect you will design, project manage and deliver a diverse range of commercial, education, community, industrial and public service projects. You will lead multidisciplinary Design Teams on projects from initial conception through to detailed design, tender and delivery on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the quality expectations of Clients.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • The design and specification of projects in accordance with current guidelines, standards, and regulations.
  • The management of projects through planning applications, building regulations and listed consent as applicable.
  • Lead multidisciplinary Design Teams as the Lead Architect.
  • Manage external Consultants in the delivery of projects, as part of the Design Team, ensuring KPIs are met, and quality is maintained.
  • Proactive liaison with other Consultants and across other disciplines within the Practice.
  • Providing specialist technical advice and support to the Practice.
  • Lead and manage the workload of the design team.

About you

Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate:
  • ARB / RIBA registered Architect, ideally with a minimum of 5 years post Part 3 qualification experience.
  • A broad range of cross sector experience would be an advantage.
  • Ability to organise, guide and lead multi-discipline Design Teams.
  • Ability to provide effective support to implement and deliver effective change.
  • Strong demonstratable communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of the application, principles, theory and practice of Architectural design and delivery.
  • Good understanding of other building and engineering related disciplines or requirements of these in the effective design, co-ordination, and delivery of projects.
  • Ability to apply technical judgement to ensure projects are compliant with design standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Photoshop (or similar).
  • Experience across all 6 RIBA work-stages.
  • Good client-facing experience and communication skills.

Rewards

Our client offers an attractive salary and benefits package, which includes flexible working, a good contributory pension scheme, private healthcare and generous annual leave entitlement.

For the right individual, there is also a clear opportunity to develop within the business and to take on a leadership role, with all the benefits that will come as a full equitable partner.
