About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ACCA, CIMA, or ACA-qualified Financial Controller to join a growing, dynamic business. Operating in a fast-paced environment, this role will manage the daily activities of the Finance function, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy in all financial transactions.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a key leadership role within the business, managing a team of 8 and overseeing a wider Finance function of 16 people. This position is ideal for an ambitious finance professional looking to progress towards more senior roles as the business continues its growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Finance team, ensuring efficient operation and high performance.
- Coordinate and review month-end reporting procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, reports, and variance analyses.
- Complete and review all month-end Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Lead the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
- Manage the audit of financial statements at the end of the financial year.
- Analyse and report on business profitability across various dimensions, including client, product, service, and geography.
- Authorise high-level payment runs and oversee financial controls.
- Provide financial insights and ad hoc reporting to senior management as required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA with a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience.
- Proven experience in managing a Finance function, with strong financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to analyse financial performance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both Finance and non-Finance professionals.
- A hands-on leader with a 'can-do' approach, capable of mentoring and developing team members at different experience levels.
- Strong process-driven mindset with the ability to implement system efficiencies to support business growth.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems.
