Evergreen is an engineering company that specializes in scalable wastewater treatment systems and containerized wastewater treatment systems for municipal and industrial application. Based in the East Midlands, the company works closely with international engineering companies to offer a comprehensive engineering service that covers initial design and planning, as well as infrastructure development and wastewater treatment technology.

Role Description

This is a full-time role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of engineering projects, including project and construction management, engineering management, and project engineering. The Senior Engineering Project Manager will also be responsible for coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.

This role is primarily an office-based management position in our East Midlands office, but occasional travel and overnight stays (mid-week only) may be required when attending project meetings or site installations. Travel and subsistence will be paid for overnight stays.

Job Description

Primary duties will include:

Manage and deliver projects from concept through to completion, ensuring all works are carried out safely, on time, and within budget.

Supervision and management of the project delivery team

Define and record project requirements

Develop and manage project schedules, resource plans and budgets.

Management of design sub-contractors and design deliverables

Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to gain optimum supplier agreements

Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, project programme, and risk management.

Excellent people management skills with the ability to influence and mentor others.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both customers and staff at all levels.

Ensure correct commercial engagement of subcontractors by checking and signing off invoices.

Ensure weekly reviews of progress, resources and forward planning are carried out.

Build and maintain relationships with both the client and external stakeholders.

Commercial contract management: Knowledge of NEC 3 and 4 ECC contract conditions would be advantageous.

Strong commercial awareness – responsible for project P & L

Liaise with Design Engineers and Technical Managers to determine costs and implications of proposals

Prepare commercial tenders and technical proposals in line with Engineering and Sales guidelines

Put together detailed documents highlighting costs, schedules, and technical specifications

Work alongside Project Teams ensuring efficient handovers to customer/client contracts

Procurement of specialist plant and equipment

Financial management of the project budget and accountability for the project deliverables

Preparation of internal weekly/monthly project reports for Directors and clients

Agree the clients sign off for the project deliverables and commercial documentation

Attend all internal project design meetings

Duties may also include:

Manage the existing Quality Management system, UVDB and ISO quality management and environmental management systems (with a view to achieving ISO14001)

Coordinate ISO9001 and Achilles UVDB Audits, maintaining ‘accredited’ status

Assess new suppliers and vendors (PQQ) and re-assess for each project

Submitting Payment Applications for stage payments at various stages of each project

Reviewing and implementing the company's Health and Safety policy with H&S consultant annually

Qualifications and Experience:

Engineering Management, Project Management, and Project Engineering skills

Construction Management and Construction skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field

Experience in the wastewater treatment industry is a plus

Interpreting GA drawing and P&IDs is essential

PMP certification is a plus

Health & Safety Qualification would be beneficial but not essential

A Full UK driving licence is mandatory

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week - Flexi hours are available between 7:30am and 5:30pm and we operate a half day on Friday.

Salary:  £60,000 to £70,000 pa dependent on experience

Annual Leave: 25 days holiday per year plus UK Bank Holidays
