The role:

Develop, implement and provide accurate and timely cost & management accounting information.

Pro-actively promote, facilitate and enhance the financial awareness of all employees.

Work with other departments to reduce costs, improve productivity, streamline existing systems and processes.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide an effective financial/management accounting and information service which meets the needs of the business whilst ensuring compliance with Statutory and the companies accounting procedures.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly accounts within five working days of the period end and "Flash" forecasts within three working days of period end. Balance sheet reconciliations completed prior to submission.
  • Overhead variance analysis
  • COGS calculation and variance analysis
  • Supervise Prepayments and Accruals
  • Develop robust inventory controls and reporting, perpetual inventory & annual physical counts
  • Supervision of the General ledger, purchase ledger, sales ledger, fixed assets.
  • Responsibility for the preparation & submission of accurate and timely VAT returns, and other government returns and statistics.
  • Timely preparation of annual Budgets.
  • Preparation of year-end statutory financial accounts including liaison with the Company’s Auditors.
  • Calculation of annual cost rates, using actual costing methods.
  • To continuously strive to improve the Operating Working Capital of the business.
  • Supervise and mentor A/P and A/R team of two.
  • Continually strive to improve and simplify procedures and systems.

About you:

Knowledge, skills, attitude, physical capability and experience required

  • Relevant Accounting qualification ACCA, CIMA (part or full) etc..
  • Previous costing experience at an advanced level.
  • Enthusiastic & can-do Attitude.
  • Detailed knowledge of or willing to learn the ERP system (Epicor) once in post.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Pro-active and the ability to prioritise workload
