We are seeking an experienced finance professional who is passionate about developing and supporting a small, dedicated finance team. You will be joining a thriving company that continues to grow, fostering a people-centered culture where employees are truly at the heart of their success.

The Role:As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a talented finance team, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining best practices. You will work closely with the Managing Director, providing regular updates on financial performance and offering strategic financial insights to support business growth. A key focus will be on guiding and mentoring the team, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting individual development, including apprenticeships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including reconciliations.
  • Review and maintain control account reconciliations for year-end accounting.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and authorise bank payments and overheads.
  • Monitor and authorise sales and purchase ledger operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and annual audits.
  • Manage day-to-day cash flow and oversee the annual budgeting process.
  • Submit monthly/quarterly returns to HMRC and handle payroll responsibilities.
  • Provide detailed financial reports to senior management and the board.
  • Conduct regular 1-to-1s and annual Performance Development Reviews with the team.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, reporting them to Senior Management.
  • Manage the negotiation of company insurances.

About You:

  • Previous experience managing an accounts team or department is essential
  • Finance Management Experience
  • AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Advanced skills in Excel and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with Access Dimensions is a plus
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and accounting processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • A confident, proactive leader who can guide a varied skill level team
