Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled 3D Design Engineer proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce parts, assemblies, and related drawings for projects in the water industry. Experience with SolidWorks Weldment and Sheet Metal is a plus, but a willingness to learn on the job is expected. Additional experience with other 3D design software is a bonus.
The ideal candidate will possess strong research skills to quickly familiarize themselves with new projects and roles. While experience in the water industry is preferred, we welcome candidates from other industries with transferable skills.
The role requires effective collaboration with other designers, project engineers, and shop floor engineers, as well as the ability to manage tasks independently when necessary to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Proficient in using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce 3D parts, assemblies, and related drawings.
- Experience with the SolidWorks Weldment and Sheet Metal package is a plus. If not experienced, a willingness to learn on the job is expected.
- Additional experience with other 3D design software is a bonus.
- Strong research skills to quickly adapt to new projects and roles.
- Preference for candidates with water industry experience, though transferable skills from other industries will be considered.
- Collaborate effectively with other designers and engineers.
- Manage workload independently when required.
- Work closely with project engineers and shop floor engineers to ensure smooth design delivery.

Additional Duties
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Job Details
- Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Early finish on Friday at 1:00 PM)
- Salary: 37,500 to 42,500
- Annual Leave: 25 days holiday per year, plus UK Bank Holidays
- Start Date: Immediate start available for the right candidate
