We are currently seeking a passionate DT & Art Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Hinckley. This is an exciting opportunity to support and inspire students in a dynamic and creative environment.

The Role:We are looking for a motivated DT & Art Technician to support the classroom by preparing materials for student use at KS3 and KS4 levels. In this Temp to Perm role, you will be responsible for assisting in practical sessions, maintaining equipment, managing materials, providing technical support, and ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:• Support with the planning and preparation of DT and Art lessons that cater to the abilities of all students.• Regularly maintain, repair, and inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.• Manage the inventory of materials and supplies, including ordering new items as needed.• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inventory, and health and safety inspections.• Support students in their projects, offering guidance and troubleshooting help.

Minimum Requirements:To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a secondary school or similar environment working as a Technician.• Training: Experience with CAD software and digital design creation.• Skills:

  • Proficiency in using and maintaining a wide range of workshop tools and equipment.

  • Knowledge of woodworking, metalworking, and other relevant fabrication techniques.

  • Familiarity with Art equipment and techniques.

Location:This role is based in Hinckley, within a well-established secondary school. The school is easily accessible by public transport and offers a supportive working environment.
