Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in English to secondary school students, ensuring a stimulating and engaging learning environment.
  • Plan and prepare lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support the personal and academic development of students, encouraging a love of reading and writing.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified teacher with a degree in English or a related subject (PGCE or equivalent).
  • A passion for teaching English, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS3 and KS4); experience at Key Stage 5 (KS5) is desirable.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, with a focus on continuous improvement.
