The Transport Planner will play a crucial role in our fast-paced Logistics team. Your primary tasks will include route planning, managing freight and ensuring timely and efficient distribution.
Description
The Transport Planner duties and responsibilities are:
- Plan and manage freight transport routes ensuring cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with clients and service providers for timely distribution.
- Monitor transport costs and negotiate contracts with service providers.
- Ensure compliance with transport laws and regulations.
- Manage and lead a team to achieve departmental targets.
- Resolve any freight transport-related issues that may arise.
- Contribute to the development of transport strategies.
- Prepare and present transport performance reports to management.
Profile
A successful Transport Planner should have:
- Proven track record of working in a similar role as Transport Planner or Logistics Planner
- Proficiency in using transport management software.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of transport laws and regulations within the Transport & Distribution industry.
- An analytical mind with problem-solving skills.
