  • Ideal Teaching Assistant: Previous experience of working with children and/or young people, knowledge or experience of SEMH and SEN, good at building relationships, team player with strong communication skills, patience and understanding, an enhanced DBS check will need to be obtained before starting

Amnis are pleased to be working with a good high school academy in the Wigan area. The SENCO is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with high SEMH needs. You will be predominantly working with this student on a 1:1 basis, to support them with their social, emotional, and mental health needs. However, you will be working as part of a wider supportive team of teaching assistants within the Special Educational Needs department, and you will therefore be supporting students across the school.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity to work in a supportive, friendly and professional working environment. You will be made to feel welcome and join a dynamic team of SEN professionals. The job is full time to start as soon as possible. The working hours are 8:30 - 3:30, Monday - Friday, term-time only. There is potential for this temporary job to lead on to a contract further down the line.
