Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a well-established school in Hindley, Wigan.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities to meet the individual needs of SEND students.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and contribute to the development of their learning plans.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • A positive, patient, and empathetic attitude towards children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
