Inhouse Agronomist | Warwickshire/Worcestershire

DoE

Picture this.

You start your day with a walk and a coffee, ready to head off to your first farm visit amidst the beautiful English countryside.

You'll spend your morning providing expert, trusted advice on a variety of salad crops, such as salad onions, to the team around you.

After a rewarding morning, return to a welcoming office filled with supportive colleagues, always ready for a laugh and keen to share the latest in technical knowledge.

The afternoon sees you back in the field, connecting with growers, observing crop health, and implementing IPM practices.

Sounds ideal, doesn't it?

What you'll be doing:

You'll see yourself joining a well-established and respected fresh produce company, supplying products to supermarkets. There's something rewarding about seeing your hard work on the supermarket shelves, right?

Due to an internal promotion, they're looking for someone who can bring their expertise to a diverse crop production business.

As an agronomist here, you'll be involved at all stages of production from seed to harvest, across various UK sites.

You'll be field walking and delivering crop protection recommendations across their 1,200 hectare operation, coordinating chemical orders, maintaining precise records via farm management software and developing fertiliser recommendations through SOYL and Omnia.

You'll play a key role in farm audits such as LEAF and Red Tractor, contribute to biodiversity and regenerative farming goals, stay on top of product approvals and legislation, and lead trials for innovative pest and weed control solutions.

You'll also collaborate with the bigger team, and you'll get the exposure to working with growers across the world.

What you'll need:

You'll be coming in and hitting the ground running, so you'll have your BASIS and FACTs and commercial field veg production will be your area of expertise.

It'd be great if you had an understanding of farm management systems. You'll thrive in a team environment and be a relationship-focused professional with a passion for sustainable farming.

If this sounds like you, whether you're from a commercial or independent agronomy background, we'd love to hear from you.
