Our client plays a vital role in the tunnelling, construction, and civil engineering industries across the UK. Position Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be pivotal in the design, development, maintenance, and specification of mechanical systems and equipment. Working across both our depot and various construction/tunnelling sites across the UK, your expertise will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid background in mechanical engineering, particularly those with experience in the construction, tunnelling, or agricultural sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary technical contact for site-based clients, understanding their needs, providing practical solutions, and conducting site visits as necessary.
- Engineering Solutions: Collaborate with a skilled team of engineers to design and implement mechanical systems that meet client requirements.
- Technical Design: Produce detailed engineering designs in line with UK regulations and industry standards.
- Performance Analysis: Regularly assess equipment performance and implement improvements to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections and proactive maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Troubleshooting: Provide on-site technical support, offering troubleshooting assistance to resolve any mechanical issues that arise.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and systems fully comply with UK regulations, including Pressure Systems, LOLER, PUWER, and other industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience, ideally in the construction, tunnelling, or agricultural engineering sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and processes.
- Familiarity with UK regulations such as Pressure Systems, LOLER, PUWER, and industry-specific standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
