Finance Officer

My client is currently looking for a Finance Officer to join their team and support the Head of Finance to ensure financial management is maintained in line with accounting standards, and internal procedures.
You will be responsible for maintaining the financial procedures and systems; produce budgets and management accounts for a variety of needs explaining any variances; and ensure accurate and timely financial recording on QuickBooks.
I am looking to speak with individuals who are capable of working independently, as well as being an integral team member. Somebody who is qualified (AAT, ACA, ACCA) who can produce monthly and end of year accounts preperation.
Day to day:
Finance administration
- Reconcile any receipts and payments made/paid on behalf of clients and ensure these are recorded correctly.
- Prepare payroll information ready for submission
Financial accounting
- Ensure that the Income & Expenditure Statement and monthly balance sheet is available from QuickBooks by confirming that all receipts and payments have been recorded, salary postings have been made and that the bank reconciliation has been completed
- Produce monthly Income & Expenditure Statements
- Carry out periodic reconciliation
- Review costs posted to each project to ensure that they have been correctly allocated.
- Prepare monthly cash flow projections
- Record cash flow and bank balances
- Contribute to the preparation of periodic reports, including management accounts and a brief commentary for SLT.
Financial management
- Ensure accurate financial records are kept in line with the financial processes as set out in the financial procedures.
- Work with the auditors in resolving audit related queries.
- Prepare reconciliations for all accruals accounts.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual financial accounts for audit.
Person specification
- A recognised accountancy qualification (AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience managing accounts, financial control and planning budgets across multiple expenditure lines and cost centres
- Sound knowledge of accrual accountancy, and VAT
- Experience of producing month-end management accounts and audited year-end financial accounts
