Job Title: Estimator (Architectural Metalwork)
Location: Hitchin
Employment Type: Permanent, On-site
We are looking for an experiencedEstimatorto join our team, specialising inArchitectural Metalwork and Secondary Steel. This is a permanent, on-site role where you'll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects in the architectural and secondary steelwork sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates for architectural metalwork and secondary steel projects
- Interpret drawings and specifications to understand project requirements
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate pricing
- Source materials, liaise with suppliers, and negotiate costs
- Prepare tender submissions and manage tender processes
- Review and update estimates throughout project lifecycles
- Ensure projects remain within budget and meet deadlines
Requirements:
- Proven experience in estimating within the architectural metalwork or secondary steel industry
- Strong understanding of steelwork, particularly secondary steel structures
- Excellent knowledge of reading technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Familiarity with estimating software
