Job Title: Operations & Production Planner Location: Hitchin Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annumShifts: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pmType: PermanentRussell Taylor Group is working with a leading pharmaceutical company who is looking to appoint an Operations & Production Planner. The Role:
  • Create and manage production schedules, making sure they correspond with inventory levels, customer needs, and orders and sales projections
  • On SAGE 1000, create a work order and see it through to completion
  • Cooperate with cross-functional teams in the areas of production, quality, procurement, and warehousing
  • Work together with the procurement team to guarantee that the packaging supplies and raw materials needed for production are available
  • Closely coordinate production plans, fill in any gaps, and make the required modifications with the production manager
  • Examine data and operational workflow to identify and implement process improvements
  • Control intermediate inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
  • To maximise stock movement, coordinate with the production and warehouse teams and perform routine inventory checks
  • Take the lead in or take part in projects that increase overall operational efficiency, decrease waste, and improve the accuracy of production planning
The candidate:
  • Worked in a similar role within a food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Knowledge of GMP, quality control processes, and health and safety regulations
  • Proficiency in creating production planning tools and workflows
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment
