Job Title: Senior / Principal Process Engineer
Location: Preston, UK

We are currently looking for a talented Senior / Principal Process Engineer to join a growing team in a dynamic sector. The company has exciting expansion plans, with numerous projects already in the pipeline and additional growth anticipated by the end of 2025. If you're passionate about engineering, leading teams, and driving large-scale projects, this opportunity could be the perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Design Leadership: Oversee the creation of process system designs, reviewing technical specifications, calculations, and other key deliverables.
  • Ensure Compliance: Guarantee that all process/technical team outputs meet project specifications and comply with regulatory safety standards.
  • Lead Design Reviews: Facilitate design reviews to ensure systems meet project requirements and align with stakeholder expectations.
  • Approve Work Scopes: Review and approve all process/technical work scopes and specifications.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as the SME for all relevant business activities, offering expertise and guidance.
  • Project Resource Management: Manage project schedules and resources, track task completion timelines, and support budget control for assigned areas.
  • Project Tracking: Provide quotes and ensure awarded projects are tracked throughout the department.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree (BEng Hons) in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Chartered Status: Chartered status or working towards it is desirable but not essential.
  • Process System Expertise: Experience with H&M Balances, equipment sizing, arrangement drawings, and package layouts in a senior or lead role.
  • Full Project Lifecycle Experience: Proven experience in all stages of project delivery, from design through to installation and handover.
  • Project Leadership: Extensive experience in designing and delivering process systems, with a track record of leading engineering teams on projects worth £5m+.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the construction and process industries, including relevant standards and regulations.
