Block Administrator/Manager
Full time - Hitchin
£30,000 to £40,000 DOE
Our client, a well-established property management and relocation company with over 30 years of industry experience, is seeking a Block Administrator to join their team in Hitchin. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow within the property management sector.
For the right candidate with relevant experience in block property management, the company is offering fully funded studies for IRPM, along with the opportunity to progress into a full Block Manager role upon successful completion of the studies. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing leasehold properties, including coordinating maintenance and repairs.
- Support the team with overseeing day-to-day property operations and service charge collections.
- Handle client queries and provide excellent customer service both verbally and in writing.
- Assist with the creation and management of budgets, including forecasting reserve funds.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Carry out regular site visits to ensure properties are in good condition and meet required standards.
- Provide administrative support, including managing correspondence, documentation, and client files.
- Support the team in preparing for and attending client meetings, including Board meetings.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and assist with risk assessments.
- Maintain legal knowledge related to leasehold, landlord, and tenant laws.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in property management software.
- Ability to multitask and manage a variety of responsibilities.
- Knowledge of Landlord and Tenant Act, RICS, and ARMA guidelines.
- Prior experience in block property management (minimum 2 years desirable).
- Strong customer service orientation and team player.
- Ability to manage client relationships and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
Hours and Environment:
- 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional extra hours and client meetings in the evenings.
- Primarily office-based, with site visits and occasional meetings at residential development sites.
Desirable Qualifications:
- IRPM Part 1 and Part 2 (Preferred, or willingness to study towards)
