Quantity Surveyor – Drylining Contractor
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum

We are working with a leading drylining contractor who is seeking a talented professional to join their growing team. About the Company:
Our client is a well-established drylining contractor with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Specialising in a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, leisure, and healthcare, they consistently deliver high-quality projects valued between £50k and £12m. With a strong reputation for excellence, they are looking to expand their team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their growing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and quantities for drylining projects
  • Assess project plans and specifications to determine scope of works
  • Prepare and submit tender documents, including bills of quantities and pricing schedules
  • Manage costs and budgets for ongoing projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Work closely with project managers and site teams to provide cost control and monitor project progress
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms
  • Review contracts and manage variations, ensuring all works are correctly priced
  • Assist in providing monthly cost reporting and forecasts

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within the drylining or construction industry
  • Strong understanding of drylining systems, materials, and processes
  • Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, and value engineering
  • Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and negotiation abilities, able to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
