This position will be at our firm's Hoddesdon office in the town centre, within our friendly team. We represent a wide range of clients, from local OMB's and SME's through to UK subsidiaries of foreign groups. We carry out a broad range of accountancy, audit, tax, in house finance functions and legal services providing a good opportunity for career growth.
Responsibilities
As an Accounts Assistant/Semi-Senior, you will be required to:
- Prepare statutory limited company accounts to review stage, including all balance sheet reconciliations, using IRIS software
- Prepare basic corporation tax computations
- Carry out and assist clients with bookkeeping across a range of accounting software
- Prepare Vat Returns
- Answer basic client queries across a broad range of subjects
- Prepare management accounts for clients
- Assistance with statutory audits
- Management of a client portfolio
Qualifications/Experience
The ideal candidate for this Accounts Assistant role will be/have:
- Either AAT qualified/Final Year, early stages of studying towards ACCA qualification, or hold a greater level of experience in a similar role (QBE)
- 3+ years’ experience working in practice
- Good knowledge of cloud based bookkeeping software – Xero, sage, quickbooks, kashflow
- Knowledgeable in basic areas of vat, corporation tax and accounts preparation including accounting standards
- Ability to communicate well with clients and colleagues and ability to work well both as a team and individually
- Can-do and positive attitude
- Self-starter and not afraid to ask for help
- Ability to manage own time and workload
- Inclination to research a range of topics as they arise using tools provided to help directors provide solutions to clients
- A keen interest in learning more in tax and accountancy
