Job Description
This employer is a family resource centre that was initially established in 2017. Since its inception, the service has grown significantly and continues to develop, earning a strong reputation for the quality of care provided.

The role involves working closely with the home manager to assist in the day-to-day running of the home and ensuring the aims and objectives outlined in the Statement of Purpose are met.

Responsibilities

Providing advice, assistance, and support to young people while prioritising their welfare and safeguarding.

Addressing their practical, physical, and emotional needs, acting as a positive role model.

Working closely with young people to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Supporting Residential Childcare Workers and Team Leaders, including providing mentorship and supervision.

This role is crucial in fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people.

To assist the Registered Manager in the implementation of all aspects of the Statement of Purpose

Driving company vehicles (current driving licence holders subject to procedures)

Receiving training appropriate to role and maintaining an up-to-date training profile

Responsibility for the accurate maintenance of financial records appropriate to the duties of the post

Responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of self and colleagues in accordance with the requirements of the homes Health and Safety Policies

Taking responsibility for mentoring the staff team to mentor and helping develop their skills,

Support staff to provide advice, assistance, and support on a 1:1 basis,

Providing support for young people in their education and extra-curricular activities,

Ensuring team leaders have created and updated placement plans, risk assessments and other relevant paperwork,

Acting as an advocate at meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion,

To carry out all other reasonable tasks as directed by Management

Person Specification

Candidates must be suitable to work with children & young people within a care setting (pre-employment checks)

Awareness of Ofsted quality standards

Knowledge of childcare legislation

Ability to relate to and communicate with young people forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people

Awareness of safeguarding issues and ability to safeguard the welfare of young people

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Ability to work under own initiative

Ability to take direction and work as part of a team

Ability to work in partnership and liaise with other professionals

Ability to recognise and acknowledge training needs and respond appropriately

Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours

Understanding equal opportunities and anti - discriminatory practice issues
