IT Asset Manager – Civil Engineering - Hertfordshire – Hybrid working - £60-70kOverview:We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Asset Manager to join a leading construction and engineering organisation based in Hertfordshire. The IT Asset Manager will oversee the lifecycle management of all IT assets across the organisation. This includes planning, procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and disposal of hardware and software assets, ensuring maximum value and compliance with relevant policies and standards.Role & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT assets, ensuring accurate tracking from acquisition through to disposal
  • Plan and manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, usage, maintenance, upgrades, and retirement
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source hardware, software, and related IT services, ensuring value for money and compliance with licensing agreements
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of services
  • Monitor asset costs and optimise expenditure through effective resource allocation, reducing unnecessary costs and identifying potential savings
  • Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and licensing obligations related to IT assets
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management, such as hardware failures, data breaches, or security vulnerabilities
  • Maintain accurate records of all assets, provide regular reports on asset status and utilisation, and ensure documentation is up to date
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a small team to deliver agreed goals
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in IT asset management, procurement, or IT inventory control
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software lifecycle management
  • Experience working with asset management tools and platforms
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience using ServiceNow
  • Experience using SNOW or a similar licensing tool
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and IT asset management best practices is a plus
  • Proficiency with asset management software and advanced Excel skills
