Purchasing Assistant – Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team.  The role will be varied but the main responsibility of this individual will be to monitor stock levels and liaise with suppliers.Location: Hoddesdon, HertfordshireSalary: £23,795-£25,000Hours: 8.30-5.30pm Monday - Friday Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
  • Research potential vendors.
  • Obtain pricing for bespoke / nonstock items.
  • Raise purchase orders for both stock and non-stock items.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Goods Inwards Process (Physical checking of materials & booking deliveries into the system)
  • Physical allocation of product in the warehouse to suit specific customer orders / production batches.
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm / change orders / chase delivery of orders.
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to make them aware of goods inwards arrival.
  • Process warehouse production sheets into the system daily.
  • Goods Issuing of orders through the system daily for invoicing purposes.
Required skills:
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Knowledge on Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic IT skills
Desired skills:
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Experience within a similar role however, training will be provided.
