We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Client in Honley. They are a well-established family run Estate Agency with a fantastic reputation. General details

 Responsibilities of the role:
  • Assist with month-end procedures, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Checking payments from tenants and pay on time and correctly.
  • Paying the landlords
  • Reconciliation on QuickBooks.
  • Collaborate with the Company Accountant to complete month-end closing activities.
  • Assisting with quarter end Accounts reserves.
  • Process and reconcile credit card expenses.
  • Petty Cash Reconciliation
  • Monitoring of cash flow.
  • Maintaining cash books for the group.
  • Generate, review, and priorities payment runs.
  • Payroll of members of staff
  • Handle banking tasks and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Monitoring and renewal of car tax & breakdown cover for company fleet.
What we're looking for:
  • An experienced Accounts Assistant ready to take the next step as an Assistant Accountant.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced working environment, ideally within an estate agency or a commercial business.
  • You will need to have a good understand of the industry.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence with IT systems, with a willingness to learn new software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Understand QuickBooks as an accountancy software due to the client using QuickBooks.
Qualifications/ Skills required:
  • Strong understanding of QuickBooks accountancy software.
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliation, payroll, end of month reporting, invoicing and purchase ledger.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping and keeping accounts up to dare
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Organised and work to tight deadlines
