Are you a skilled tradesperson - plumber, joiner, carpenter, electrician or other practical professional looking for a new challenge?
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a practical mindset and love for outdoor work to bring your expertise to a dynamic role. You will have the opportunity to expand your skill set and take ownership of a range of maintenance tasks.
Working directly with our Estates Manager you will be trusted to work independently carrying out various duties, using your skills to help maintain our grounds and buildings.
This is a full-time position with a minimum of 5 days a week, including weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday), with overtime opportunities.
Please note this role is based In Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, however travel to other sites may be required.
All equipment is supplied and training where required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Building and Repairs: Carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrics, painting and general repairs.
- Grounds Maintenance: Ensure the farm's exterior is maintained to a high standard year-round, including upkeep of fences, walls, gates, fields, hedges and trees, water troughs, culverts, and pathways.
- Effluent Plant: Operate and maintain the effluent system. This includes checks, cleaning and land irrigation. Full training will be given.
- Animal Care: Support the herding and welfare checks of our cows during the summer months.
- General Duties: Take on various tasks such as roof cleaning, drainage maintenance and clearing gutters.
- Equipment and Storage: Maintain a tidy and organised work and storage area and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Collaboration: Support the wider maintenance team for larger projects when necessary.
- Health & Safety: Ensure work is carried out safely and with attention to detail.
- Record Keeping: Maintain simple records of tasks, including written notes and photos.
About you?
We're looking for someone with a trade background who enjoys a varied role. You'll need to be physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work, including lifting and carrying items. You should be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in a trade such as plumbing, joinery, electrical, carpentry, block work, or basic dry-stone walling (experience in more than one trade is a plus).
- Willingness to drive a tractor and site machinery (Training available)
- Punctual with a strong work ethic taking pride in your work, honesty, and reliability.
- Self-motivated, dynamic and positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence.
