Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estimatorto join a dynamic team in the UK commercial interior design and fit-out sector. This role involves managing project estimates and procurement processes for projects ranging from 20,000 to 5 million, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender Management: Review tender enquiries, generate scopes of work, and provide expert guidance on project budget feasibility.
- Quotations and Costings: Produce detailed project quotations, factoring in labour, materials, and supply chain input.
- Client Interaction: Submit tenders to meet client deadlines, address post-tender queries, and negotiate contract sums.
- Procurement: Negotiate and manage the ordering process for sub-contractors and material suppliers to achieve best value.
- Project Oversight: Act as Commercial Lead on secured projects, providing cost updates, managing valuations, and compiling final accounts for client approval.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct post-project cost reviews for internal evaluation and improvement.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers to foster long-term partnerships.
Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years as a self-managing Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in the UK commercial interiors and fit-out sector.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and associated costs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other industry-standard software/tools.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
