Accelerate Teaching is thrilled to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic and nurturing secondary school in Kirklees. This position offers you the chance to work closely with students who require additional support, ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN) and other learning requirements
- Work closely with teachers to assist in planning and delivering lessons that meet the individual needs of students
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation
- Help manage student behaviour in line with the school's policies, promoting a respectful and safe atmosphere
- Offer emotional and pastoral support to students, contributing to their overall well-being and personal development
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure students receive comprehensive support
- Support students during exams and assessments, helping to reduce anxiety and ensure they perform to the best of their abilities
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a secondary school setting
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and resilience
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education
