Our revered engineering and manufacturing client is seeking a skilled Senior Buyer to join their procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement operations, developing and implementing purchasing strategies, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities as Senior Buyer
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies and processes to support the ongoing growth of the business
- Manage procurement operations and monitor supplier performance
- Obtain and analyse supplier quotations, source new suppliers, and arrange tenders
- Oversee the customs entry process for imports and complete quotations for the sales team
- Utilise MRP systems to analyze market trends, supplier data, and cost structures
- Evaluate potential new suppliers and negotiate contracts
- Provide leadership and support to the procurement team
Qualifications as Senior Buyer
- Level 4 CIPS qualification preferred
- Experience in a leadership or senior role
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail and prioritisation skills
Benefits as Senior Buyer
- Up to45k Basic Salary DOE
- 38 hours a week
- 26 days holiday plus BH, increasing with long service
- 4 x death in service payment
