Transport Planner Required!
Our client is a leading dealer and plant hire specialist in industrial machinery and parts. With a strong reputation for quality service and a diverse product range, they are dedicated to meeting the needs of their customers in the industrial sector.
On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit a Transport Planner. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning and scheduling of transport operations, ensuring products are delivered efficiently and on time. The role will involve planning 5 HGV trucks & drivers.
The successful candidate must be able to commute to their site in Holyport.
Package:
- Yearly salary 35,000 (DOE)
- Workings hours 7.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
- 20 days plus bank holidays
- Company pension
Transport Planner - Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient transport schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Plan and optimise transport routes to reduce fuel costs, time, and environmental impact.
- Monitor transport activities, tracking and resolving any delivery issues or delays.
- Liaise with customers to provide delivery updates, manage expectations, and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with all transport regulations and company policies, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities, costs, and performance metrics.
- Identify areas for improvement within transport processes and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Plan and arrange the HGV & service van fleet vehicles maintenance, MOT & Tax etc
Transport Planner - Requirements:
- Proven experience in transport planning, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with both customers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
