About the Role:
As the Garage Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the garage, ensuring a high standard of service, effective management of staff, and the efficient running of the workshop. You will be responsible for driving operational success, ensuring excellent customer service, managing the team, and optimizing workflow, while also maintaining a safe and productive environment for both employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the garage, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service delivery.
- Lead and motivate a team of technicians, mechanics, and administrative staff to ensure high levels of productivity and quality of work.
- Monitor and improve workshop performance, ensuring quality standards and efficiency are maintained.
- Handle customer inquiries and ensure that all customer service issues are dealt with promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all vehicles are serviced and repaired according to the highest industry standards, including overseeing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Manage scheduling and allocate tasks to staff efficiently, ensuring optimum use of resources.
- Control and manage inventory of parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Track financial performance, manage budgets, and monitor profitability.
- Conduct staff appraisals and training to maintain high standards of service and skill development.
Ideally, You Will Have:
- Proven experience as a Garage Manager or in a similar managerial role within the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
- Customer-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, staff, and resources efficiently.
- A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the workplace.
- Financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets and improving profitability.
- A full driving licence.
