About the RoleButler Rose is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Buyer to join their dynamic team on a 12 month FTC basis with a strong chance of a permanent role following.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and experience in stock management to play a key role in supporting both the commercial and operational sides of the business.

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing stock movements, assisting with sales forecast reporting, and ensuring effective communication with suppliers to minimise out-of-stock situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular sales reports to the management team to monitor forecast accuracy, stock levels, and adherence to plan.
  • Support the commercial team with margin reporting and monitor annual sales performance against the budget.
  • Assist the commercial team with New Product Development (NPD) costings.
  • Conduct weekly stock checks on both finished goods and raw materials with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of stock records and provide visibility of future stock requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a daily, weekly, and monthly production plan for the production teams.
  • Build and manage supplier relationships to minimise stock shortages.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure the Sage system accurately reflects physical stock.
  • Maintain monthly stock reports to provide the business with accurate stock holding visibility.
  • Manage and track any stock transfers outside of the standard process.
  • Develop and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all stock control tasks.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team and suppliers to identify opportunities to minimise costs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in a Buyer or Supply Chain role or similar within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in stock management and forecasting.
  • Experience with MRP systems and stock management software is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail.

Package

  • Salary £32,000 + benefits
  • 12 month FTC with opportunity for permanent role following
  • Site based between Honiton and Axminster
