An experienced Facilities Operative (Security) is needed to join the team at this leading Facilities Management company based in Hook on a full-time basis. They are a fast-growing and forward-thinking Facilities Management company. 

You will ensure that all public and back-of-house areas of the site are safe and secure, protecting property and people and meeting the company's high standards and specifications.

About the Role

You will be proactive and react with an immediate and appropriate response to security incidents to ensure that health, safety, and security standards are delivered and maintained. 

Security duties include supporting the day-to-day supervision of the building's daily operations, taking pride in your job, and delivering excellent customer service to visitors, tenants, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the building 
  • Arrange to carry out all daily, weekly, and monthly Centre checks in conjunction with the manager 
  • To carry out a regular inspection of entrances, mall interior, streets, car parks, service roads/areas and public access areas 
  • Ensure all Health & Safety checks are carried out as requested by the manager 
  • To maintain the standards of cleanliness on-site at all times 
  • Prevent, detect and investigate disturbances on site and signs of intrusion; ensure security of doors and gates and that no unauthorised personnel enter restricted areas
  • Accurately reporting all incidents, writing reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, presence of unauthorised persons, requests for assistance or unusual occurrences 
  • Undertaking investigations into reports of offences and incidents, escalating incidents where required to do so 
  • Support tenants with individuals who act in an anti-social manner, in line with SIA regulations 
  • Ensure deliveries, visitors and contractors are properly recorded on site and effective control takes place on access and egress
  • Ensure all contractors have a valid permit to work before commencing any works 
  • Testing the fire alarm systems, including the setting and disengaging of the alarm panel and the activation of the call points, dealing promptly with alarm activations 
  • Make sure tenants and visitors are parking in the assigned spaces

Required Skills:

  • Basic competency with IT and technology 
  • Working knowledge of entrepreneurial, fast-paced, flexible retail/office environment 
  • To be able to communicate with customers, colleagues and visitors fluently in English 
  • Observant and able to complete accurate reports 
  • To have a working knowledge of own Health and Safety responsibilities 
  • Fire Marshall duties 
  • First aid trained 
  • SIA valid Door Licence/SIA CCTV Licence 
  • Experience with COSHH
