The School and Role

This School based in the Rotherham educates young people aged 5 to 17 with ASC (Autism Spectrum conditions) and communication and interaction difficulties.

This role requires a highly motivated, adaptable, committed, enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistant with great communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting the Class Teacher.  You will have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that have a child-centred approach in all they do.

Early years practitioners with the confidence of working with Secondary aged students is desirable for this role! PLEASE NOTE: You do not have to be a qualified Teaching Assistant to apply for this role, however relevant experience is required. 

Requirements

The desired SEND Teaching Assistant will have;

-          Experience of working with EYFS to post 16 aged young people

-          Experience of working with pupils with SEND and complex needs

-          A sound understanding of communication difficulties and behaviours that challenge  

-          Resilient, gentle, creative, and playful
