HGV Class 1 Driver

22.48- 23.86 per hour
- Any shift finishing before 2am: 22.48
- Any shift finishing after 2am: 23.86
Shift pattern, Sunday - Saturday
We're looking for qualified and experienced HGV class 1 drivers for regular work for the Christmas and New Year busy period Monday - Sunday early, lates & nights shifts.
The role is completing a range of different class 1 roles, trunking, RDC to RDC, ensuring customers receive a high level of customer service.
You will need to complete a 4 hour assessment which is paid once you pass and complete your first weeks assignments.
Key tasks:
- Delivering items to customers
- Trunking mail across the country
- Safely operate a truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment
- Plan routes and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver's license 2 years (CDL)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Proven experience as a truck driver
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- DBS required
- 5 year address history
