Teaching Assistant required for SEND School in Horley

We’re working with a growing SEND Secondary School in Horley for children aged between 10 - 16 years old. This warm school celebrates individuality, and pushes children to reach their own goals. The curriculum is planned to ensure it is exciting and specifically meets the needs of each individual child, their needs and learning styles. Children within this setting express a variety of needs; Autism, Aspergers, and Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs.

If you have experience in education, or personal experience with children/SEND, and are passionate about supporting the individual development of children, please apply!

Candidate should have:

  • Some experience working with children

  • A passion or interest in SEND

  • Adaptability

  • Experience with SEND, not necessity but preferable

  • Understanding of Autism

  • An understanding of child development

  • Be patient and understanding, empathetic and compassionate

  • Able to start ASAP

About the role:
  • 32.5 hours per week - 8.30am - 3.30pm Mon - Fri

  • Supporting children’s social and emotional development

  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils

  • Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion

  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
