A great six-month fixed term opportunity has arisen for an experienced 1st and 2nd Line IT Support Technician. 

The role is to cover a member of staff on a sabbatical however, due to future team growth there could be an opportunity for this to become a permanent position.  The role is to be based in Surrey, with an occasional visit to other a couple of other offices in the UK when required.  All expenses for this are covered.

The role is to support technologies such as Active Directory, Office 365, MS Azure, and Windows Servers.  It is a blend of Service Desk and Deskside support.  You will also support a VOIP softphone system and EndPoint which is a deployment and vulnerability management software. 

You will be providing 1st and 2nd Line IT support over the phone and deskside.   Working to a ticket system in a timely manner to resolve the technical issues, build workstations as required and be the primary IT contact for a newer office in Bristol (this is done remotely with the odd visit to Bristol).

All administrative functions within Active Directory such as account creation/deletion.  Install and configure hardware, firewall, switches, servers etc.  Systems administration including backups, networking and antivirus whilst proactively seeming to improve the IT area.  Ensure compliance and security are met (ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials). 

This is a busy and varied role working with and supporting internal end users within the business.  The role offers hybrid working of two days in the office and three days working from home per week.  

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9-5 or 8-4 and there may be a rare requirement to remotely be on call on a Saturday morning which would be compensated accordingly.

Skills/experience/attributes:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an IT Support role is essential
  • Experience of 2nd Line and 1st line IT Support
  • Experience of Office 365
  • Experience of Active Directory
  • Experience of Windows Servers
  • Experience of MS Azure
  • Knowledge of cyber experience
  • Strong problem solving and technical fixing skills
  • Fantastic communicator, verbal and written.  Over the phone and face to face are essential
  • Ability to work with people at all levels
  • Enjoys working as part of a busy team but also under own initiative
