?Job Title: Warehouse Assistant

??Salary: £25,000

??Location: Horley

??Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm

The Role

As the Warehouse Assistant you will manage and organise inventory storage and rotation, assemble parts for mechanical and electrical kits, and provide support to other areas within the Stores Department as needed, including general warehouse duties so a flexible approach to your work is important. Attention to detail is key along with handling small components.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage and organise inventory storage effectively.
  • Pick and prepare parts for mechanical and electrical builds.
  • Identify and report stock shortages to the stock controller.
  • Provide support across all areas of the stores department, including packing duties.
  • Serve as a reliable and approachable resource for inventory-related needs.
  • Maintain and care for provided equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to company systems and procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating with third-party contractors.
  • Understand and navigate the workshop environment.
  • Keep the workspace clean and organised.
  • Use and update the computerised stock management system.
  • Taking part in a yearly audit and documenting results with accuracy is critical.

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have a full driving license.
  • Forklift truck driver’s licence is desirable.
  • Experience working in a shop floor environment.
  • Strong communication and numeracy skills.
  • Dependable and competent.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
