Eventus Legal is seeking a Solicitor to join a well-established regional law firm’s Private Client team. The firm is situated in Horley and is easily commutable from several areas including Redhill, Horsham and Haywards Heath. This is a permanent, full-time job with a reputable firm who are renowned for providing expert legal services to an impressive client base. Role Responsibilities

The incoming Solicitor will join a leading law firm who specialise in providing expert advice and assistance to their clients. With a commitment to excellence and a client-centric approach, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to the Private Client team.

The day-to-day jobs duties within this role will include:

  • Providing sound legal advice and assistance to your clients as well as those of other departments of the firm
  • Taking on new instructions and have ongoing conduct of client matters through to completion
  • Providing sound legal advice and assistance to clients, independently managing a busy caseload and ensuring files are managed efficiently
  • Assisting with various Private Client matters including preparation of wills and trusts, Powers of Attorney, probate, estate administration, and tax
  • Maintaining a client / referrer base and to continue to develop it
  • Contributing to the marketing and practice development activities at the firm, showing initiative in terms of practice development
  • Collection of monies on account and regular, timely billing, achieving or exceeding targets in respect of chargeable hours and fees
  • Maintaining a professional knowledge base and ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures

Person Specification

The successful Solicitor will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years' post qualified experience within Private Client law, preferably within a reputable law firm or legal department. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical expertise in Private Client law to include matters such as Wills, Trust & Probate, estate administration, and tax
  • Well-developed interpersonal, social and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and able to work effectively under pressure
  • A sound knowledge of your responsibilities including professional conduct, client care, confidentiality, regulatory and compliance procedures
  • Experience with case management systems
  • Outstanding organisation skills with good file management
  • A sound knowledge of Fee Earner responsibilities including rules and principles of professional conduct, client care, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, relations with third parties and with other solicitors, regulatory and compliance procedures
