What will you be doing day to day?

As part of the COO Leadership team, you will shape, establish and lead the future development of our operational support function. You will lead on service delivery and embed organisational behaviours in service of our customers. You will be responsible for developing the operational support strategy encompassing Operational Control Centre, Strategic Planning, Fleet Management & Logistics.

Key responsibilities of the job.

  • Lead the delivery of an efficient and effective operational support function.
  • Lead and motivate diverse teams with agility.
  • Develop and implement an appropriate Target Operating Model for the operations support function that aligns with the overall SGN Target Operating Model and meets approved design principles.
  • Own and develop the strategic planning capability and the establishment plan to ensure appropriate resources are provided to meet SGN’s business plan.
  • Optimise the Logistics service following the separation from SSE.
  • Lead further on the development of the Operational Control Centre strategy for SGN to ensure we meet our business targets.
  • Lead the fleet service to ensure a reliable, efficient fleet that helps frontline colleagues to get the job done right, first time, in good time, and safely.

What you’ll need

  • Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a change leadership.
  • Experience in operational management of multiple teams with complex needs.
  • Experience in one or more operational support functions such as OCC, Logistics, Fleet.
  • Gas industry knowledge and experience, ideally gained within SGN.
  • Expertise is delivering performance improvement.
  • Understanding of Target Operating Model development and implementation (specialist support will be provided to the job holder in this area).
