Premier Work Support are excited to be recruiting for an Pick and Despatch Team Leader for one of our prestigious clients based in Horley.

Job DescriptionThe Pick and Despatch Team Leader oversees warehouse picking and despatch operations to ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment. This role involves managing a team, driving efficiency, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Team Leader plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and achieving departmental KPIs aligned with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of pickers and despatch staff to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings, provide feedback, and support staff development through PDPs.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
  • Oversee picking and despatch processes to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfilment.
  • Conduct quality checks to maintain high accuracy and service standards.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, including order accuracy, productivity, and on-time despatch.
  • Address performance issues and implement corrective actions to meet targets.
  • Develop and deliver training to upskill staff in operational processes and product knowledge.
  • Enforce health and safety policies, conduct safety audits, and address risks promptly.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Ensure accurate stock handling and collaborate with inventory teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage timely despatch of all orders to meet customer satisfaction goals.
  • Build strong relationships with other departments to streamline operations.
  • Act as the primary contact for the pick and despatch team and other stakeholders.
  • Manage operational costs within budget, optimising resources to support efficiency.
