Quantity Surveyor - OUTSIDE IR35
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilledQuantity Surveyorwith extensive experience in major infrastructure projects to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of large-scale civil engineering projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
- Procurement: Manage tender processes, prepare procurement strategies, and evaluate contractor and supplier bids.
- Contract Administration: Administer standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT, or bespoke forms) including managing variations, claims, and payments.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate cost/value reconciliations, forecasts, and reports to stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate commercial risks associated with major infrastructure projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with project managers, design teams, and contractors to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment with project goals.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant statutory regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Project Performance: Monitor project progress and provide input on strategies to optimize delivery timelines and budgets.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field.
- Professional Membership: MRICS, or working towards chartered status with the RICS or similar recognized body is desireable.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 57 years of experience in quantity surveying.
- Demonstrated expertise in major infrastructure projects, including transportation, utilities, or large-scale civil engineering works or EPC projects.
- Contract Knowledge: Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or other major forms of contract.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in cost management tools and software (e.g., CATO, CostX, or similar).
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital construction practices is advantageous.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of UK construction laws, health & safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
