Social Worker - Low & Medium Secure Mental Health Hospital 

Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time or Part Time (flexible based on preference)

Job Summary

Appoint Healthcare is proud to partner with a highly reputable national provider of health and social care services, supporting young people and adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities. We are currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a low and medium secure mental health hospital for men detained under the Mental Health Act, based in Charlwood, Surrey.

In this role, you will manage a complex caseload, conduct social care and risk assessments, facilitate group activities, and contribute to ICR meetings, supporting service users in planning for their future.

As a Social Worker, you will report to the Safeguarding Lead, handle internal investigations, and liaise with home authorities throughout the admission and discharge processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educating hospital staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Completing full annual social care reassessments within the CPA format.
  • Facilitating access to welfare rights, housing, advocacy services, and associated support systems.
  • Participating in 1:1 supervision sessions.
Requirements
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Degree in Social Work.
