In this role, you will work closely with primary-aged children (5-12 years) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing the tailored support they need to thrive. Please note, being a driver is essential due to the location of our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support within the classroom, adapting to the individual needs of students with ASD.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
  • Utilise specific strategies to engage and motivate students, helping them achieve their educational goals.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Manage any behavioural or emotional issues with sensitivity and professionalism.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or similar special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special needs and the strategies to address them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be a driver due to the location of the school.
