JOB TYPE: Full time, Permanent                            HOURS: 40 hours a week

Job role: SEN Teacher 

Reed Education are supporting a small independent school based in Smallfield with their recruitment for a permanent SEN teacher.

They are currently looking for a teacher who can provide a high quality of teaching to children and young people with Specific Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Complex needs. With knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND being able to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment! They are looking for an individual who will be able to implement school policies and practices regarding safeguarding and equality of opportunity.

  Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and inclusive environment for all students
  • Implement the aims of the school
  • Responsible for pupil’s progress, welfare and outcomes
  • Provide clear and structured lessons
  • Providing professional support to other teachers and support staff
  • To appropriately manage challenging behaviours

Requirements:

  • PGCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status (equivalent teaching training with in-service training)
  • Postgraduate diploma in Autism (desirable)
  • Experience in working in a special school environment specifically with pupils with autism (desirable)
  • Experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs (desirable)
