About the Role:

Our client, a reputable secondary school in Hornchurch, Essex, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Learning: Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons and interventions tailored to the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support, using adaptive teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assessment and Reporting: Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and address any issues in a constructive manner.
  • Resource Development: Create and adapt learning resources to ensure they are accessible and engaging for SEN students.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: HLTA qualification or equivalent, with relevant SEN training.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with SEN students in a secondary school setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and creative in approach, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs.
