If so, Randstad Education has an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently looking for an experienced Deaf Instructor. In this role, you will support and communicate with deaf children, helping them access the curriculum and interact with teachers and peers.

This is a fixed-term contract, starting immediately.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) at Level 6 or above, or as a first language
  • Experience working with deaf children
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (desirable)
  • Experience delivering BSL lessons to both adults and children
  • Willingness to lead and attend evening community events and courses
  • Enthusiastic, committed, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage activities reflecting specific curriculum expertise
  • Deliver deaf awareness sessions across the school to mainstream classes
  • Participate in the inclusion of deaf students and evaluate progress
  • Provide direct support for deaf pupils during extracurricular activities
  • Implement strategies tailored to each learner's needs
  • Continue developing communication skills, including BSL
  • Ensure appropriate access arrangements in lessons for deaf students
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons, materials, and teaching styles to meet student's needs.
