Recruiting for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work with small groups of KS1 and KS2 SEND students based in Hornchurch. The students have various Learning Needs ; Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD),Verbal/ Non Verbal and Communication Needs. To start - 22nd April 2025 (after the Easter break) Monday - Friday, term time only

An opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to make a real difference to the students' young lives.

Experience or knowledge of working with Lego Therapy, Attention Autism, PECs, Phonics & Now/Next as these are used to develop the students with their speech/language and social communication.

For this role:

  • Experience/knowledge of working and supporting KS1 & KS2 students with various Learning Needs.
  • A drive and energy for working with students that have have SEN needs both verbal & Non Verbal
  • To work as a team alongside the class teacher with the students learning and development
  • Building the social/ emotional skills of the students whilst promoting trust and confidence.
  • To work calmly and effectively and adapt to the learning plans appropriately.
  • Happy to assist with personal care.
  • L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, Care or SEND qualification.
