My client in Cambridge is currently in need of a Senior Transport Planner due to expansion.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Transport Planner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of transport projects, offering both responsibility and career progression. Key Responsibilities:
- Write, review, and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and Technical Notes
- Prepare documentation for appeals, including Statements of Case and Statements of Common Ground
- Project manage schemes, ensuring efficient budget and time management
- Liaise with clients and officers, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder management
- Assist with the training and mentoring of junior staff
- Complete, review, and approve planning drawings, including visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, and access designs
- Attend Public Consultation events, project team/client meetings, appeal hearings, and Local Highway Authority meetings
- Prepare fee proposals and tenders for new projects
- Apply knowledge of modelling packages and methodologies for trip generation and distribution calculations
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Membership of a relevant professional organisation
- At least 5 years of experience in transport planning
- Strong knowledge and application of national design guidance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in using computer-based systems, including Microsoft programs
- Ability to manage your own workload and delegate tasks effectively
Role-Specific Requirements:
- Ability to attend and present at Public Consultations and stakeholder meetings
- Proficiency in reviewing and approving planning-related technical drawings
- Strong client liaison skills and ability to manage multiple projects
