Tutor
Location: Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire
Hours: 2 hours per week (Monday to Friday – flexible)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: Competitive, based on experience from £26 – £35 per hour
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated tutor to provide 1:1 educational support to a young person with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in Hornsea. This unique opportunity involves delivering a sensory-based curriculum in the student’s home, supporting their educational engagement while they are unable to attend school full-time due to medical needs.
About The Role as a Tutor:
- Deliver sensory-based learning activities tailored to the student’s EHCP.
- Work collaboratively with the school to ensure the curriculum aligns with their resources and learning plans.
- Provide a calm, patient, and engaging approach to meet the student’s individual needs.
- Support learning in the home.
- Adapt activities to promote engagement, communication, and sensory development.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with students with PMLD, complex needs, or sensory impairments.
- Background in SEN education, tutoring, care work, or therapy is highly desirable.
- Ability to plan and deliver sensory-based learning in a creative and engaging way.
- A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- A valid Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
